Rockingham County beef cattle producer Stephen L. Saufley of Port Republic was re-elected to a fifth term on the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation board of directors in November 2006.

Saufley chairs the VFBF Rural Health Advisory Committee and serves on the Investment and Finance Committee.

He is a past president of the Rockingham County Farm Bureau and continues to serve on that organization’s board of directors. He has been a member of Farm Bureau since 1975.

The graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College has been farming since 1970. He is a past member of the Rockingham Petroleum Cooperative’s board of directors and has worked as a school bus driver for 39 years. He is active in the Blue Ridge Church of Christ in Fishersville, where he serves as a prison ministry team leader and small group leader.
