Enjoy fall savings on highway safety products for farm equipment

Members can save as much as 20 percent on highway safety items this fall: slow-moving vehicle emblems, reflective tape kits, strobe lights and fire extinguishers.

“These items can help prevent accidents when moving farm equipment on public roads,” said Bruce Stone, safety manager for Virginia Farm Bureau. “Producers need to use the proper lights, reflective tape or SMV emblem to give motorists an early warning.”

Virginia law requires an SMV emblem to be displayed at all times on farm equipment designed for operation at speeds of no more than 25 mph. Both metal SMV emblems and decals are available through Farm Bureau.

Reflective tape kits for both farm machinery and highway-use are available. The amber strobe lights have a magnetic base and require two D-cell batteries.

Virginia sales tax will be added to all order prices. Orders are limited to 12 of each item per membership. All items are available through any county Farm Bureau office at special prices through Sept. 30.
