Food Independence Recipe Contest runs through July 31

RICHMOND—In honor of Independence Day, Virginia Farm Bureau’s Save Our Food campaign will celebrate Virginia’s food independence with its third recipe contest.

Summer is the perfect time to cook with fresh, local food products, because more are in season now. Information on when specific Virginia products are available can be found at SaveOurFood.org/Learn/Why.

Recipe entries should be original and should include as many Virginia products as possible. Submit your recipe, along with your name and county, via e-mail to socialmedia@saveourfood.org. You also can mail recipes to Food Freedom Recipe Contest, Attn: Communications Department, 12580 West Creek Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23238. All entries must be submitted by July 31.
