About Virginia Farm Bureau Federation

Since our founding 90 years ago, Virginia Farm Bureau Federation has grown into the state’s largest non-profit agricultural advocacy organization. More than 125,000 members have joined us to help farmers protect their land and their livelihoods for the next generation.

Farming has changed a lot since we started, but our employees are still committed to supporting farmers. Our advocacy efforts, education programs, community outreach, leadership training, and more are all part of protecting the Virginia way of life.

New employees can choose from a variety of affordable options. Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage with a Health Savings Account is effective on your first day, and we share the cost of your medical (including vision) and dental plans. Flexible Savings Plans also are available to help pay for child care and medical expenses.

Generous Paid Time Off

In addition to paid holidays, Virginia Farm Bureau offers a paid time off program which allows employees the flexibility to manage and use their time off as needed throughout the year. New employees start with a generous paid time off package every year and unused PTO days may be rolled over to the following year.

Disability and Life Insurance

Coverage for basic life insurance starts 30 days after your start date, and will pay your beneficiary a benefit of two times your annual base salary up to $300,000 of coverage. After one year, employees are also eligible for Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability coverage.

Continuing Professional Development

Virginia Farm Bureau and our family of companies encourages employees to further their education. The company reimburses employees for education related to company business, including: undergraduate and graduate degrees, individual job-related courses, insurance certification programs, professional designation programs and business, technical or trade school

Volunteer members make grassroots policy recommendations through our advisory committees, and we turn that wisdom into active efforts in lawmaking, political endorsement, and educational resources for children and their teachers.

Our Young Farmers and Women’s Programs facilitate business networking and professional development, while our grain marketing initiative and partnership with VA FAIRS lets us actively help Virginia farmers stay competitive and grow their businesses.
