Matt T. Fimon of Brunswick County was elected to the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation board of directors in December 2024.
Fimon previously chaired the American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee from January 2023 through January 2024.
Since 2018, he has served on the VFBF Young Farmers Committee with his wife, Lindy Tucker Fimon. He was appointed to the AFBF committee in early 2021 before being elected chair.
Fimon moved from urban Minneapolis to rural Southside Virginia in 2018 to start a family with his wife, a past chair of the VFBF Young Farmers Committee.
The couple runs a beef cow-calf and hay operation with Lindy’s family in Lunenburg and Brunswick counties. They also raise sheep and meat chickens and manage a cut flower operation.
Off the farm, Fimon works as a human resources manager for a jeanswear retail company. Additionally, he serves on the Lunenburg County Farm Bureau board of directors.
Fimon also serves on the VFBF Young Farmers Legislative Subcommittee. He has led efforts to bring urban legislators to twice-yearly VFBF Young Farmers Expo, and to promote more involvement of young farmers in the annual VFBF Legislative Day event in January.
